About Me
Passionate Quilter. Experienced Editor. Trusted Partner.
My name is Elizabeth Beese (rhymes with easy!)
I’ve worked in the quilting and sewing publishing world for 25 years, helping designers, publishers, and makers bring their creative visions to life. For 16 of those years, I was an on-staff editor for national quilting, sewing, and crafting magazines. Since 2016, I’ve been a full-time freelancer, offering technical editing, illustration, and pattern design for patterns, books, and magazines across the quilting industry.
Over the years, I’ve:
• Written hundreds of quilt patterns.
• Created technical illustrations for more than 400 quilts.
• Edited 50+ quilting and sewing books.
Some clients rely on me just for technical editing — double-checking math, diagrams, yardages, and fabric details. Others trust me to manage the entire process, from pattern writing to illustration to final layout.
Quilting has been a lifelong passion. I started sewing at four years old and quilting at nine, and I will always think of myself as a “maker of things.” I’m also proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), giving me the tools to bring clarity and polish to every project. Above all, I love helping quilt designers succeed by creating patterns their customers can enjoy with confidence.
